Tech Giants Maintain Their Lead
The top of the rankings remains unchanged, with familiar names holding their ground. According to Similarweb statistics, these platforms continue to shape how billions of people search, watch, and connect online.
Google leads with nearly 20% of all web traffic, followed by YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram securing the top four spots:
- 1 – Google.com: 19.74% traffic share, +3.36% monthly growth
- 2 – YouTube.com: 6.88% traffic share, +3.52% monthly growth
- 3 – Facebook.com: 2.72% traffic share, +2.80% monthly growth
- 4 – Instagram.com: 1.57% traffic share, +4.84% monthly growth
ChatGPT Secures 5th Place With Strong Growth
ChatGPT stands out as the only AI-native platform breaking into the global Top 10. The platform pulled in 6.165 billion visits during October, capturing a 1.43% share of worldwide web traffic with a healthy 4.43% increase from the previous month. This puts ChatGPT ahead of X.com (rank 6), Reddit (rank 7), WhatsApp (rank 8), Wikipedia (rank 9), and Bing (rank 10). The steady climb in traffic shows that AI assistants are moving beyond experimental tools and becoming go-to resources for millions of users looking for information, help with tasks, or creative inspiration.
Bing Continues to Decline
While most top sites are growing, Bing tells a different story. The search engine dropped 0.27% in monthly visits, making it the only Top 10 website losing ground. After sliding to 10th place in September, Bing hasn't bounced back. This decline becomes even more striking when placed next to ChatGPT's momentum, suggesting a real shift in how people prefer to find and interact with information online.
